Summer Running Tip #1 Create an account on Mapmyrun.com and start tracking your runs. It is an excellent way to display how far you have come and to share running data with teammates and coaches. Summer Running Tip #2 Start doing a simple strength and core routine 3-4 times a week. Push-ups, Squats, Planks, Lunges, Pull ups, and Flutter Kicks are an excellent way to GET STRONG and avoid injury during the season! Summer Running TIP #3 Take your running shoes with you on vacation and explore a new area. Use Google Maps to scout the location and always remember how to get back to your starting point! Summer Goals Get fit, have fun, be healthy for track season. This is NOT the time to worry about PRs. Gradually build mileage, increase your long run, listen to your body, and get stronger mentally and physically. This is also a great time to substitute a good bike, hike, or swim as an alternative to running. |

Buying the right shoes for Cross Country can be one of the most important decisions of the season. The correct shoes can make running more enjoyable, reduce the risk of injury, and maybe, just maybe, make you a little faster! You do not need the most expensive shoes to win races. You should be running in shoes designed for running, not basketball shoes, soccer shoes, or skateboarding shoes. In the Milwaukee area we are lucky to have two great family owned running stores to choose from. Performance Running Outfitters Rodiez Running Store |
